Landshut University of Applied Sciences is a scientific partner of the MedizinCampus Niederbayern (MCN). The connection to the MCN will further strengthen the links between medical teaching, applied research and clinical care. In addition to the Physician Assistant and Midwifery degree programmes (primary and further qualification), medical students can also be involved in interprofessional training at Landshut University of Applied Sciences in future.

To this end, a simulation centre is being built on several hundred square metres in a central area of the Landshut university campus: the "Center for interdisciplinary medical and midwifery teaching and training" (CIMT). In future, medical students will be able to practise various routine and emergency situations in a protected environment and at the highest level. Among other things, a simulated shock room/operating theatre and a simulated rupture room will be realistically equipped. The professors employed at Landshut University of Applied Sciences have proven expertise in the field of medical didactics, which is complemented by many years of experience in patient care at university hospitals and current activities in the field of research and teaching. The concepts developed for the MCN take into account both important aspects of the HighMedAgenda Bavaria 2023 and the current recommendations of the Science Council for the further development of the healthcare professions.

Academic responsibility for the Lower Bavaria Medical Campus lies with the University of Regensburg. Landshut University of Applied Sciences will also contribute academically via the University of Passau, as will Deggendorf Institute of Technology. The clinical locations and partners are spread across the cities of Regensburg, Landshut, Passau, Deggendorf/Mainkofen and Straubing.
