Further information on the applicationAdmission requirements
The application for admission (= application) is made online and is generally possible from 15 April to 15 July. All necessary application documents must be enclosed with the application. The admission requirements are
- Degree from a German university in an economics or engineering degree programme with an economics background or a comparable domestic or foreign degree
- Proof of 210 ECTS (at least 180 ECTS and completion of a possible substitute program)
- For foreign applicants: German language skills at least at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
The Master's degree programme always starts in the winter semester. The application period usually ends on 15 July, but an extension of the application period is also possible.
Further information on the application and admission procedure can be found here.
You will find a list of all documents in the application portal. Here you will also find information on the required form of the relevant documents to be submitted. All documents must first be uploaded online. If you are successfully admitted to the Master's degree programme, you must submit selected documents in the original or certified.
For the recognition of non-business degree programmes, but with at least 45 ECTS credits in business subjects (usually industrial engineering, business informatics or similar) or of achievements in a degree programme that has so far only been completed with 180 ECTS, please submit the corresponding completed forms .
The Bachelor's certificate can be submitted later if proof is provided within the usual application deadline that the applicant will complete their first degree programme with 210 ECTS credits by the end of the current semester. This is usually done by uploading a current transcript of records and proof of the final ECTS total acquired upon completion of the degree programme (e.g. excerpt from the study and examination regulations). The degree certificate or a certificate of successful completion of the first degree programme must be submitted by the time of enrolment (30 September) at the latest.
Students who do not have all documents complete by the end of the application period (15 July) can still apply. However, the complete transcript of records must be submitted as soon as possible. From this point onwards, you can be considered in the admissions process. Experience has shown that the admissions process takes several weeks.
Yes, if you have already completed examinations, you can have them credited by the examination board, provided that there are no significant differences in the skills acquired. Please note that, due to the difference in level, credits from a Bachelor's programme do not generally correspond to credits from a Master's programme. The credits must be at Master's level. According to § 20 APO (General Examination Regulations), the transfer of credits requires a written application and can only take place if the coursework or examination that is to be waived on the basis of the transfer has not yet been completed (not taken) at Landshut University of Applied Sciences.
In some admission years, the degree programme is subject to admission restrictions. No information can be given about the NC (Numerus Clausus) for the Master's degree programme applied for during the application period, as these are not yet fixed at that time and fluctuate from year to year. Your admission will only be checked upon submission of your application documents. It is not possible to make a binding statement without submitting all application documents.
The degree programme is a full-time course. In recent years, the curriculum has generally been designed so that one day a week was lecture-free. However, no guarantee can be given here. When planning, you should bear in mind that the Master's programme has a high workload due to preparation and follow-up work.
There is no separate part-time study programme for the Master's degree, but the standard period of study of 3 semesters can of course be extended to a maximum of 7 semesters. However, prospective students should discuss this with the programme director.
It is important to distinguish whether you are applying for a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme. There is also a difference as to whether the Bachelor's degree programme is admission-free or admission-restricted (with NC). Further information on the application and admission procedure can be found here.
The university determines the number of places to be allocated for individual degree programmes. From the applications received for places on degree programmes with restricted admission, the best students from various groups (Abitur, Fachabitur, master's degree, second degree, etc.) are admitted according to a ranking list until the number of places to be allocated is reached. The NC (Nurmerus Clausus, average grade for admission) is calculated each year from the average grade of the last university place awarded. Experience shows that the NC fluctuates considerably from year to year when there are only a few study places to be allocated and cannot be predicted in advance of admission. It is therefore not the grade point average required for admission that is specified in advance, but the number of study places to be allocated.
Depending on whether you have already studied something similar or the same degree programme elsewhere, you either apply for a higher semester or start a new degree programme in the first semester. If you apply for a higher semester, the creditable examination results in particular determine whether you can be admitted. More information here.
If you can prove that you have already acquired comparable skills - either through professional experience or as part of a previous degree programme - you can apply to have these recognised. The application must be submitted to the Student Service Centre and will then be reviewed by the relevant examination board. You will be informed of the decision after approx. 2-3 weeks. The application can be found here.
Once you have registered in the applicant portal and uploaded your documents, you will be kept up to date on the progress of your application. If something is missing or incorrect, which would lead to exclusion from the award procedure, you will also be notified there. The letter of admission is also available for download there. Click here to go to the applicant portal.
