BAföG
In principle, all German students are entitled to a first degree subsidised by BAföG, provided that the funds required for living expenses and education are not otherwise available. Foreign students should always seek advice from the Office for Educational Support.

The application process is now straightforward; since the summer semester of 2010, students in Bavaria have been able to submit their BAföG application online.
There are exemption limits for a student's assets and additional earnings during the funding period. The training allowance for a compulsory internship is taken into account without an allowance. Please seek advice on this!

Your BAföG
The prospect of receiving BAföG and using it to finance your studies is greater than you often think.
Half of the educational support is usually granted as a grant and half as an interest-free loan.
Repayment begins five years after the end of the maximum funding period (standard period of study). The grant amount is calculated individually and depends on your income and assets (income and assets of the student) as well as the income of the spouse - if any - and the parents.
Different allowances are deducted depending on the marital status of the parents, the number of siblings of the student and their education.
