Expanding knowledge with research

Research is the driving force behind innovation, and knowledge transfer is the key to its impact. The Business School operates at the intersection of academia, business and society. How ideas are turned into concrete solutions, how we tackle current challenges through modern research, and how we put our findings into practice. Whether through applied projects, collaborations with businesses or academic networks – our aim is not only to generate knowledge, but also to actively make it accessible and develop it further. In doing so, we place particular emphasis on sustainable innovation, social relevance and open dialogue with our partners.

Applying practical experience to teaching

Gain an insight into key elements of our practice-oriented programme – from practical projects and guest lectures to field trips, simulations and serious games.. Practical projects bring knowledge to life by enabling students to work on real-world problems alongside local businesses and develop concrete solutions. Guest lectures broaden horizons by providing insights from industry partners and encourage exchange and networking. In addition, field trips offer a direct on-site perspective, foster dialogue with experts and open up perspectives that extend far beyond the lecture theatre. In simulation games and serious games, key skills are practised in a safe environment and theoretical knowledge is put into practice.

Transfer in business and society

Through the Landshut Business Management Forum series of events, ‘Upheavals, New Beginnings, Breakthroughs – New Perspectives for Business and Society’, we aim – together with experts and business representatives – to shed light on the consequences for businesses and the economy and to discuss ways of addressing them.
The economy and society are characterised by major upheavals: globalisation, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, the climate crisis and changes in the world of work. Traditional concepts and institutions have been shaken to their core. It is often unclear what the future holds. The result is widespread uncertainty.
New approaches within companies and organisations are seeking breakthroughs: sustainability, New Work, purpose, social entrepreneurship and the economy for the common good. What is needed are game-changers, role models and sources of inspiration.
