The interdisciplinary English-taught Bachelor‘s degree programme Sustainable Industrial Operations and Business combines technical, business and international knowledge, skills and competences in the context of sustainability.

You will be trained as a specialist and manager of tomorrow who will sustainably understand and shape future operational and strategic developments and productions in companies and their impact on society and the economy.

Through our unique dual concept "Study & Work", you will have the opportunity to gain work experience at well-known companies, such as BMW, while you are still studying.

Study & Work - our unique dual concept

To combine theory and practice, the unique "Study & Work" concept was established:
Various companies, such as BMW, Dräxlmaier, Ebm Papst and many others, offer you the opportunity to gain work experience, take on responsibility and earn money while studying.

By offering vacation jobs, working student activities, semester and project work as well as the practical semester (5th semester) and the bachelor thesis (7th semester), our cooperation partners give you the opportunity to put theory directly into practice.

The perfect study time is waiting for you here!

Experience, for example, the Dingolfing "Kirta", a great highlight of Bavarian folk festival tradition. From festival tents where you enjoy your "Maß Helles" in good company to exciting rides and delicious chocolate fruits. The "Kirta" is a must for every student.

Another highlight is the annual "Dingfest", where first-class artists* perform. They enchant the city for over a week with this cultural event.

You will also find a skate park and the popular beach bar "Sabine's Isar Hütt'n" directly on the Isar.

In the summer time it's off to the "Mossandlweiher" (lake)! The cool water will give you a short vacation from your studies and hard work. In the colder months the "Erlebnisbad CAPRIMA" (public pool) is waiting for you.

Bike lovers
will find perfect opportunities in Dingolfing and the surrounding area: challenging downhill trails as well as picturesque bike paths along the Isar River are waiting to be discovered.

As a bolder or climbing enthusiast, you can enjoy a day at  the "DAV Kletterzentrum Dingolfing" (climbing center).

Sports fans, can experience exciting ice hockey games of the Bavarian League in the "Marco-Sturm" ice rink.

Requirements profile

Applicants for the Sustainable Industrial Operations and Business degree program should be interested in mathematics, natural sciences, computer science, technology, business administration, sustainability, languages and cultural diversity.

As a future link between technology, business administration and sustainability in an international environment, they should also enjoy working in a team.

Entry requirement regarding language level: English: B2 with the following certificates/proofs.

Access requirements

The program is admission free, i.e., no N.C. or pre-internship is required.

The formal admission requirement for all applicants is the Fachhochschulreife (advanced technical college entrance qualification) or the subject-specific or general higher education entrance qualification. For international applicants, the preliminary examination of the certificates takes place via Uni-Assist. Vocationally qualified persons (e.g. master craftsmen) can also apply for a place at university under certain conditions.

Start of study

Studies for first-year students at Landshut University of Applied Sciences usually begin in the winter semester (start 2023: October 4).

Application for admission in the period from April 15th to July 15th of the respective year.

Course of studies

The Bachelor's degree program comprises six theoretical semesters and one practical semester. A total of 210 ECTS points is acquired. The study program has a modular structure.

The modules of the 1st to 4th semester focus on the basics of technology and business administration as well as their integrative linkage and international application.

An important component is therefore also the development of language and intercultural skills.

German for non-German speaking students:

  • Students without German language skills, development in the course of studies (level A1)
  • Students with initial German language skills, development in the course of studies (level A1/2 to B2)

Foreign language for German-speaking students:

  • Students without respective foreign language skills, development in the course of studies (level A1)
  • Students with respective foreign language skills, development in the course of studies (level A1 to A2/B1)

The 4th semester is followed by the internship semester and two theoretical semesters of advanced studies, including the Bachelor's thesis.
