Structural doctorate

Ein Doktorhut liegt auf Büchern. Im Hintergrund ist die Hochschule Landshut zu sehen.

Participation in academic publishing

According to the doctoral degree regulations §10 para.1, an overview of publications must be submitted at the opening of the doctoral procedure.

Teaching

In accordance with doctoral regulations §10 paragraphs 2 and 3, 4 SWS of teaching must be completed over the entire period of the doctorate. Proof of the number of hours of teaching can be uploaded to Primuss on an ongoing basis (see guidelines) and must be submitted by the time of the opening of the doctoral procedure at the latest.  If no proof of teaching experience, such as a teaching assignment, is available, this form may be used.

Please note that 4 SWS are required in total and not per semester and that only teaching activities undertaken after obtaining the degree required for the doctoral program can be taken into account. You are personally responsible for conducting the relevant teaching and submitting the supporting documentation. The documentation will not be reviewed until the opening of the doctoral procedure.

Academic qualification

The courses can be completed during the entire duration of the doctorate. The relevant certificates can be uploaded to Primuss on an ongoing basis - but at the latest at the opening of the doctoral procedure (see guidelines). In principle, the courses can be attended at any institution; the following courses are offered at the three partner universities:

TH Degendorf
The four courses can be completed as part of the ‘Research and Dissertation Competence’ academic certificate programme.
Summer Semester: Gute wissenschaftliche Praxis und Compliance, Ethik und Datenschutz in der Wissenschaft, Hochschullehere und rechtliche Aspekte / Didaktik
und Digitale Lehre
Winter Semster: Forschungsdatenmanagement

TH Augsburg
Summer Semester: Gute wissenschaftliche Praxis und Vermeidung wissenschaftlichen Fehlverhaltens, Ehtik und Datenschutz
 Winter Semester: Forschungsdatenmanagement, Hochschuldidaktik

HaW Landshut
 Offer varies

Dates, times, format (face-to-face, online, hybrid) and course language (German, English) can be found on the homepage.

Courses already attended can also be recognised as long as the number of ECTS credits is identical.
You are responsible for completing the relevant courses during your doctorate and submitting the relevant certificates. The evidence will only be checked at the start of the opening of the doctoral procedure.

Annual reports

As part of the structured doctoral programme in accordance with Section 10 PromO, it is necessary that regular meetings (at least once a year) are held between supervisors and doctoral candidates. In these meetings, a short list of the steps already undertaken shall be drawn up and, if necessary, the work schedule is adapted together. The information that the meeting or meetings have taken place must be reported to the DIT Graduate School by September via Primuss (see guidelines).

Interim report

In accordance with doctoral regulations §10 para. 2 and 3, an interim report should be submitted after three years at the latest. This is regulated in a concept and takes place in a colloquium, which can be carried out in two variants.

Important: The interim report is not intended as a presentation of the dissertation at the beginning of the process. Rather, it is seen as a kind of test defence. The respective reviewers will evaluate the progress of the doctoral process and check whether the plans for the remaining time to submission are convincing.

In the ZIP folder you will find all the necessary documents for the interim report:

  • Template for the research outline in LaTex
  • Template for the research outline in Word (for reference only; the final submission must be a PDF exported from LaTeX)
  • Confirmation of the interim report within the structured doctoral programme
  • Authorization for Publication
