Junior professorship
With structure into science
Start your career at Landshut University of Applied Sciences as a W1 junior professor! You become active yourself and gain experience in teaching and academic operations at Landshut University of Applied Sciences. We will qualify you as part of the LAnding qualification program in a tandem or doctoral model - depending on your personal background. At the same time, you will gain valuable practical experience with one of our regional cooperation partners.
How to get started
We focus on your individual needs: you teach courses, work on selected research tasks from your area of appointment and publish research results. At the same time, you will receive various further training and support opportunities as part of the LAnding qualification program.
An experienced professor will act as a mentor to help you structure and manage your wide range of tasks. At the same time, you will build a bridge between business and research with a part-time position at one of our cooperation partners and gain practical experience on site.
After you have developed your professional skills as a W1 junior professor within a maximum of five years, you will now meet all the formal requirements to apply for a W2 university professorship.
Cooperation with regional companies
Digitalization in healthcare and social services, media sciences, business and administrative informatics as well as sustainability and Industry 4.0 - these subject areas are currently in particularly high demand in both science and business.
We are looking for you to develop these areas further! As a W1 junior professor, you will contribute to research and transfer activities between Landshut University of Applied Sciences and one of our cooperation partners and gain valuable practical experience.
Current cooperation partners are the BMW Group and xpecto AG. Further partnerships with regional companies are planned for the coming months.

After completing a relevant university degree and a doctorate or three years of professional experience, you have the following opportunities to start as a W1 junior professor:
Tandem model
Are you at the end of your doctorate and lack professional experience? In the tandem model, you qualify as a professor at Landshut University of Applied Sciences and at cooperating companies in the region: you gain part-time (50%) practical experience in a commercial enterprise. You will gain skills in presentation, didactics, research and acquiring third-party funding at your 50% position at the university in the form of a W1 junior professorship.
Doctoral model
Do you have at least three years of professional experience but have not yet completed a doctorate? With LA-Proof, you have the opportunity to advance your own doctorate while working at Landshut University of Applied Sciences as a W1 junior professor (50% position). Together with your mentor, you will select a suitable doctoral topic and receive assistance in finding a suitable university partner.
