Overview

The Institute acts as a platform for the structured, practice-orientated examination of the topics of medical, health and midwifery care research and strategies. Its aim is to improve comprehensive, needs-oriented and personalised healthcare. In addition, the Institute works to identify existing barriers and support structures in the healthcare system and to implement innovative solutions, including concrete measures for specific population groups.

The goals and tasks at a glance:

  • Coordination, bundling, acquisition, processing, expansion, support (selection) of research activities and studies
  • Co-operation with research institutions
  • Development and expansion of infrastructure (e.g. simulation and technology centre) for research and teaching
  • Promotion of young talent, including doctorates, scientific theses and the institute's own seminar for Bachelor's and Master's students, as well as doctoral candidates
  • Knowledge dissemination in the form of publications and presentations at conferences
  • Integration of scientific findings and methods as well as equipment into teaching
  • Offering continuing education and further profiling and expansion
  • Knowledge and technology transfer
  • Inter-university networking with clinics, institutions and companies
