Landshut University of Applied Sciences Welcomes International Exchange Students for the Winter Semester 2025/26

Orientation week of the International Office helps to settle into student life in Landshut

With a warm reception and a diverse orientation program, Landshut University of Applied Sciences welcomed its incoming international exchange students for the winter semester 2025/26 at the end of September 2025. 15 students are spending their semester abroad in Landshut this time.  The so-called “Welcome Day” marked the start of an intensive orientation week designed to help newcomers from around the world settle into student life in Landshut.

All the important information needed for a successful start

The “Welcome Day” began with a welcome from representatives of the International Office, Maria Mehlhaff and Kristin Rochelmeyer, and student representatives Mert Bulut and Clara Weber from the International Department of the STUV. The agenda included getting to know each other personally, information about the programme and the university, and important organisational details. During a joint campus tour and lunch in the cafeteria, the group was able to gain initial insights into their new place of study.  The first day concluded with a library tour and an IT introduction session.

During orientation week, exchange students also received assistance with course selection.Faculty representatives guided students through the course registration process, helping them get off to a successful academic start.

First cultural impressions and new friendships

The days that followed offered a varied program: A guided city tour of Landshut and a full-day excursion to Regensburg not only provided cultural insights but also encouraged new friendships among the international students. A special highlight was a trip to Munich including a visit to the world-famous Oktoberfest – an unforgettable introduction to Bavarian traditions.

This marked the end of Welcome Week, but the dedicated STUV International, led by Mert Bulut (himself a former exchange student), continues to organise a varied program of events. For more information, follow them on Instagram at stuvla_ir.
