In 2002 and 2003, the Elite Network of Bavaria was developed as a concept that provides the best possible support for particularly talented students and young scientists. The network currently has over 10,000 members.
The Elite Network of Bavaria is chaired by an advisory board with eight members chaired by Prof. Dr. Phillip Hellwege (University of Augsburg). A professor from Landshut University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Bernd Mühlfriedel, has also been a member of the Advisory Board since January. The Professor for Entrepreneurship & SME Management at Landshut University of Applied Sciences is tackling his new task with great commitment. "I am really looking forward to supporting and helping shape the Elite Network's support programmes in the future in terms of content and the programme," Mühlfriedel explains.
The Elite Network of Bavaria is responsible for elite degree programmes, international doctoral programmes, international junior research groups as well as for the "Max Weber Programme Bavaria" and "Research Grants" funding lines, developed in accordance with the Bavarian Elite Promotion Act (BayEFG). Mühlfriedel's mandate on the Advisory Board is initially for three years.
