Economic transformation processes, triggered for example by digitalisation and demographic change, present companies with fundamental challenges. In order to provide academic support for these processes and help shape them in a practical manner, representatives from the Faculties of Business Administration – Business School, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering have established the ‘Economic Transformation’ research group.
Our work focuses on practical application: in line with our philosophy, we address specific issues arising from business practice, develop well-founded answers and translate them into actionable approaches. In doing so, we combine a scientific foundation with direct relevance for businesses and society – with the aim of acting as a catalyst for processes of change.
This collaboration can take many different forms: research questions can be addressed in smaller projects involving students, whilst empirical surveys or tool-based analyses – for example, using eye-tracking – are also possible. Larger research proposals may also be a focus. We, the members of the ‘Economic Transformation’ research group, look forward to cross-functional collaboration and what we hope will be lively discussions.
Prof. Dr. Wolfram Lipp and Dr. Robert Luzsa were elected as spokespersons for the research group.
Close collaboration with partners from business and society fosters a continuous exchange between research and practice, from which both sides benefit: companies gain insights to help shape their change processes, whilst the research group aligns its work with real-world requirements.
