Successful presentation at the IEEE ICE Conference in Valencia

Students and researchers present innovative paper on process simulation and prozess mining

As part of the LA-Proof project, junior professor Markus Schmidtner, his mentor Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wunderlich, and a group of students from Landshut University of Applied Sciences, participated in the renowned IEEE ICE (International Conference on Engineering and Technology) in Valencia. The conference, which brings together leading experts and scientists in the field of engineering and technology, provided an ideal platform for presenting innovative research approaches achieved at Landshut University of Applied Sciences.

A lot of recognition for research in the field of logistics process optimization

In their joint paper with students from Landshut University of Applied Sciences, Wunderlich und Schmidtner examined the application of “process simulation as a basis for process mining in intralogistics” (publication on www.ieeeexplore.com currently in preparation). Their contribution presents a new perspective on the optimization of logistics processes and demonstrates how process simulations can help identify weak points in intralogistics and increase efficiency through process mining.

"The conference was an excellent opportunity to present the results of our work to an international expert audience and receive valuable feedback," explains Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wunderlich. "The positive response to our students' work was particularly gratifying. Their research results demonstrate the potential of process simulation and process mining for the practical improvement of logistics processes."

Expansion of international contacts

As part of the LA-Proof project, which supports junior professors at the University of Landshut, valuable contacts were established with scientists from all over the world. This paves the way for further collaborations in the future and helps strengthen Landshut University of Applied Sciences as an international research institution.

"It was a pleasure to be able to present the research results at a high international level. It is also particularly noteworthy that students from Landshut University of Applied Sciences contributed to the creation of the paper, thus gaining their first experience with international publications. The feedback from this renowned research community and the newly established contacts will help us expand research at Landshut University of Applied Sciences," says Markus Schmidtner.

Participation in the IEEE ICE Conference is a further step in the ongoing promotion of international collaboration and practical research orientation at Landshut University of Applied Sciences. Such conferences not only help develop academic skills but also foster networking within the scientific and industrial communities.
