    Programme content

    Digital change knows no industry boundaries and this is exactly what we prepare you for. Our innovative MBA programme equips you with the knowledge and skills to lead small to medium-sized companies through the challenges of digitalisation. From IT security to blockchain technologies - in five semesters, including a practice-orientated Master's thesis, you will delve deep into the world of digital business management.

    Flexibility

    Our study model is flexible and designed to run alongside your career. The seminars take place on Friday afternoons and Saturdays, partly on our campus in Landshut and partly online. This allows you to combine your studies with your work and family life. You also have the option of completing individual modules as independent university certificates.

    Programme content in detail

    In terms of content, the Digital Business Management programme is based on four key pillars - basic requirements for taking on management positions in companies today. The greatest possible flexibility is ensured through further specialisation via the compulsory elective modules.

    1. Digital expertise: You will acquire specialist knowledge in key areas such as IoT, Industry 4.0, data science, digital marketing and many more. This module offers you the opportunity to specialise in your area of interest.
    2. Digital leadership: Here we focus on modern leadership methods that will equip you for the challenges of the digital age. Supplementary modules in coaching and conflict management are also available.
    3. Fundamentals of business management: This area covers everything from the development of digital strategies to controlling and legal aspects of digitalisation.
    4. Entrepreneurship: You will have the opportunity to develop a business idea in small teams and draw up a business plan.

    The modules

    Digital transformation & strategies: In this module, you will be introduced to the concepts and methods of digital transformation. You will learn how to develop, evaluate and implement digital strategies to keep companies competitive in the digital age. Case studies and practical examples illustrate how digital transformation is successfully implemented in different industries.

    Digital Leadership 1: This module focuses on the leadership skills that are essential in the digital economy. You will learn how to effectively lead and motivate teams in a digitalised environment. You will also learn techniques for managing and promoting digital change in organisations.

    Fundamentals of corporate management: Here you will acquire basic knowledge of corporate management, specifically geared towards the digital era. You will deal with topics such as strategic planning, controlling and the legal framework for digitalisation. This module forms the basis for an in-depth understanding of corporate management in a digital context.

    Data Visualisation & Analytics: In this module, you will learn how to analyse large amounts of data and prepare it in a visually appealing way. You will acquire skills in the use of modern analysis tools and data visualisation techniques. The course emphasises the importance of data-based decisions in corporate management.

    Digital Leadership 2: This module deepens the knowledge and skills acquired in the first part. It deals with advanced techniques in digital leadership, including change management and promoting innovation. You will learn how to develop your leadership skills to meet the challenges of digital change.

    Digital production: This programme focuses on the latest technologies and processes in digital manufacturing. You will explore topics such as smart factory, automation and increasing efficiency through digital technologies. The module provides an in-depth understanding of how digital tools are transforming the production landscape.

    Cyber Security: In this module, you will learn all about the challenges and strategies for ensuring cyber security in companies. You will learn to recognise risks, plan preventative measures and respond appropriately to security incidents. The course emphasises the importance of cyber security for a company's overall strategy.

    Applied projects: This practical module allows you to apply what you have learnt to real projects. You will work on specific tasks, develop solutions and present your results. The focus is on the practical implementation of digital strategies and concepts.

    Modern project management: Here you will learn about modern project management methods and tools, particularly in the context of digital projects. You will deal with agile methods, project planning and control as well as the successful management of project teams. The module prepares you to manage complex digital projects efficiently.

    Internet of Things (IoT): In this module, you will gain a comprehensive overview of the Internet of Things. You will learn how IoT technologies are used to optimise processes, develop new business models and improve customer experiences. The course shows how IoT is changing the way businesses operate.

    Blockchain technologies: You will immerse yourself in the world of blockchain and learn about its fundamentals, use cases and potential for companies. The course covers topics such as cryptocurrencies, smart contracts and how blockchain technology can revolutionise industries such as finance, logistics and more.

    Coaching: This module focuses on coaching skills that are critical for leaders in the digital age. You will learn techniques for personal development, people management and fostering a positive work environment. The course emphasises the importance of coaching as an employee motivation and retention tool.

    Digital Marketing: Here you will learn about the latest trends and strategies in digital marketing. The course covers topics such as online marketing, social media strategies, content marketing and data-driven marketing. You will learn how digital marketing can be used to increase brand awareness and sales.

    Additive manufacturing: This module provides an introduction to additive manufacturing (3D printing). You will learn about different techniques and materials and how they can be used in production. The focus is on the possibilities that additive manufacturing offers for product development, prototyping and small series production.

    Master thesis

    You will complete your studies with a Master's thesis, in which you will work intensively on a scientific issue related to your degree programme over several months. You will be closely supervised by professors at Landshut University of Applied Sciences. It is possible and recommended that you establish a link to your professional practice in your Master's thesis.
