Admission requirements

The basic admission requirement for admission to a Bachelor's degree programme is a higher education entrance qualification valid in Bavaria; in most cases the Abitur or Fachabitur.

If a degree programme has restricted admission, you must also achieve the required cut-off grade (=NC) in order to be offered a place. This grade is not determined in advance, but only in the course of the admission procedure.

In the case of admission-free degree programmes, every application received in due form and time will receive an offer of admission to the degree programme applied for.

Application deadline

All Bachelor's degree programmes generally start in the winter semester, i.e. on 1 October. The application period begins at the end of April and ends on 15 July. If no Abitur or Fachabitur certificate is available by 15 July, this can be submitted by 27 July.

In the summer semester, you can generally only enter higher semesters in a Bachelor's degree programme (start of summer semester = 15 March). This assumes that you have already studied in a similar subject area. The application deadline for the summer semester runs from 15 November to 15 January.

In some degree programmes, the application deadlines can be extended individually. The exact dates can be found on the homepage of the applicant portal.
