University for children

Why can we fly? How does a solar-hydrogen car work? What is the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and how does it benefit children in Landshut? These and other questions are answered for children between the ages of eight and twelve at the University for children at Landshut University of Applied Sciences.

As University for children cannot take place at the moment, the free learning apps offer an alternative for all young researchers.

Anyone who comes to the University for children becomes a real ChildrenUni student and, like our older students, must observe a few things beforehand:

Organisational matters

In order to attend certain lectures, students must register for these courses. This process is called "enrolment". You can also register with us to get a place in the KinderUni lecture.

You will find a description of the next KinderUni lecture in the "Lectures" section. Then click on the "Registration" button in the menu bar on the left. A new page will open. You can enrol here. Please answer the questions in the fields and click on "Continue". On the next page you can check your entries again. If you now click on "continue", you are bindingly registered for the next KinderUni, a confirmation page will appear on the screen after a few seconds and you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us to the e-mail address you have provided.

Please note: The number of places is limited! Enrolment is on a first-come, first-served basis - whoever registers first is guaranteed a place. You can register here. You will also always find the latest information there.

The lectures are free of charge and last around 60 minutes. As with a real lecture, participants should bring paper and pens! Due to the great response, two lectures per semester on topics from the fields of technology, business administration and social work will be adapted for children.

As these lectures are intended for children and the number of places is limited, we ask parents not to take a seat in the lecture theatre. We endeavour to make it possible for parents to visit our café.

We ask you to arrive in good time before the individual lectures. All KinderUni students receive a KinderUni student ID card from us. A stamp is placed on the card for each lecture attended. After every four lectures attended, you will receive a KinderUni certificate.

KinderUni mailing list

If you would like to receive information about the next KinderUni by e-mail in good time, please write to us at kinderuni(at)haw-landshut.de, stating your child's name and date of birth, and we will be happy to send you information about events for children at Landshut University of Applied Sciences. Please note our data protection information.

Does the KinderUni cost anything and do I have to register?

The lectures are free of charge because the lecturers do not receive a fee and the initiative works on a voluntary basis. It is necessary to register for the lectures as places are limited. Please arrive at the lecture theatre indicated about 15 minutes before the start of the event. If parents register their children, please clarify in advance which lectures the children are interested in. Please note that every registration is a binding reservation! If you are unable to come, please cancel your registration and let us know by phone or e-mail at kinderuni(at)haw-landshut.de so that the place can be made available for another child!
