Landshut University once again occupies top position

The industrial engineering program at Landshut University of Applied Sciences is once again rated top in all criteria in Germany's largest university ranking

Every year, DIE ZEIT takes a close look at individual courses of study in the CHE ranking, the largest university ranking in Germany. These are evaluated in 16 criteria based on facts and judgments of 120,000 students and 3,000 professors.

In 2023, as in previous years, the Industrial Engineering and Management program came out on top.

In all sixteen evaluation criteria - which, in addition to facts about studies, examinations, teaching and research, also includes assessments by students of the study conditions and support in various areas at their university - the Industrial Engineering and Management program was rated above average. Thus, it was able to maintain its top position. Particularly outstanding are the very positive evaluations with regard to the organization of studies, the practical orientation of teaching, the range of courses offered, career orientation opportunities and the support provided by lecturers.

The comprehensive student evaluation takes place every three years for the respective study programs. The focus of the student evaluations in 2023 is on economics, law and social work. The CHE ranking is carried out by the Center for Higher Education Development. It examines more than 300 universities and universities of applied sciences (HAWs) as well as dual universities and universities of cooperative education. This makes the CHE University Ranking the most comprehensive and detailed comparison of universities in the German-speaking world.

For Prof. Dr. Markus Schmitt, head of the industrial engineering program, the positive result of the ranking confirms the quality of the program: "At Landshut University of Applied Sciences, we have been offering one of the best-rated industrial engineering programs for almost 25 years. Our students appreciate the wide-ranging study content, but also the comprehensive options for their individual profile formation. We are the first university in Bavaria to have established the "Education Certificate for Sustainable Development" according to a state-wide standard ("Bayernzertifikat"). This makes our study content on sustainability even more visible to the outside world."
