After successful completion of this course, students:

  • Know and assess the degree, characteristics, drivers, advantages, and problems of economic internationalization
  • Acquire detailed knowledge of the key questions and planning steps for business internationalization, and ability to apply respective planning instruments
  • Know the typical operational issues caused by internationalization and understand the basic concepts for solving them
  • Understand the concept of culture and its importance for business
  • Assess one's own culture and its influence on behavior and communicate effectively in international teams

Objectives

This course runs over two semesters. Attendance for only one semester does not result in ECTS credits.

Content: Recognizing the criteria of a successful academic paper regarding content, structure, literature research, and citation. Introduction to the methodology of science by in-depth discussion of a selected topic of engineering and management.

Knowledge: Know the process and methodology of science.

Skills: Conduct thorough literature research and use appropriate sources of professional information for job purposes. Speak and write in a scientifically correct way.

Competences: Prepare and present results of academic articles, and document these results. Critically analyse subject-specific statements, discuss them and assess them regarding their practical relevance.
