Review of a Promising Semester Start for the Faculty of Business Administration

Welcome event for students filled the auditorium

At the beginning of this winter semester, Landshut University welcomed a large number of new students, with a significant contribution from the Faculty of Business Administration, which had over 300 new undergraduate and master's degree students three weeks ago. In a well-attended welcome event, Vice President Prof. Dr. Silvia Dollinger and Dean Prof. Dr. Alexander Kumpf greeted the many new faces on the Landshut University campus. In a motivational speech, Kumpf emphasized, "You have made the right choice. Welcome to Landshut University. In addition to the core functions of business administration, our Faculty of Business Administration focuses on entrepreneurship, internationalization, digitization, sustainability, and people & society."

Launch of "Business Psychology & Sustainability Management"

An exciting addition to the faculty this semester is the launch of the Bachelor of Science program in "Business Psychology and Sustainability Management," which has been eagerly anticipated. The demand for this program was so high that its capacity was expanded to accommodate even more students.

Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Robin Hau, the new program provides fascinating insights into the multifaceted world of business, psychology, and sustainability. "Various incoming students have chosen different programs from our diverse offerings. We will explore the question of why each of these different decisions can still be the right one in the new and exciting program of Business Psychology and Sustainability Management, among many others," Hau announced to the attentive audience.

In their view, the success of the economy depends on its sustainability and consideration of people's needs. Conversely, sustainability can only succeed when it incorporates economic aspects and the human factor. Psychology, according to Hau, complements this connection by addressing how it can contribute to society.

Welcome Event with New Colleagues in Front of a Large Audience

The festive welcome event for the 310 new students at the Faculty of Business Administration marked a successful start to the semester. Among the professors, there were also three promising new additions to the faculty. Prof. Dr. Tina Krieger, Professor of "Business Administration, External Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation," Prof. Dr. Sara Siakala, Professor of "Sustainability Management," and the aforementioned Prof. Dr. Robin Hau were also warmly welcomed with applause. The new faculty members each delivered inspiring speeches, describing the significance of their academic fields and their focus areas.

Currently, the Faculty of Business Administration at Landshut University oversees more than 800 students, including 69 who have chosen the new Bachelor of Science program in "Business Psychology and Sustainability Management." Additionally, a total of 14 incoming international students, who will study at Landshut University for one to two semesters, and 2 Bridge Students from Ukraine were welcomed at the start of the semester. Not included in this statistic are the international students at Landshut University who come from other countries and have enrolled without any accompanying programs. The faculty's international orientation ensures a consistently good mix of German and international students.

The semester start at the Faculty of Business Administration at Landshut University promises not only a diverse and exciting academic journey for students but also a contribution to the development of a sustainable and future-oriented economy.
