Objectives
  • Within the last decades, a field of "Cultural Education" inside and outside the school education system has been developed in Germany, which focuses on learning through arts and music.
  • In the context of Social Work, emphasized goals can be, for example, "Cultural Participation", "Empowerment", "Personality Development" and "Inclusion". In this course we will examine the term "Community Music" and reflect the German discourse with its roots in the "Sociocultural Movement" and its traditions in "Alternative Culture".
  • It includes the presentation of selected examples of Community Music Projects and furthermore musical experiments as a group.
