Social Work: Shaping Diversity (M.A.)

Course Outline

The aim of the consecutive Master's degree programme Social Work: Shaping Diversity is to specifically qualify students for professional activity work in different fields of social work. Diversity, national and international developments in social inequality, structural and institutional discrimination and their effects on cohesion processes pose great challenges for social services, associations and institutions, both now and in the foreseeable future, but are also part of the problem-solving strategies to be developed. Our society is crucially shaped by diversity and this is where the generalist Master's degree programme comes in, with its content being focused on fundamental ideas developing expertise and action in social subsections.

  • Standard Course Duration: 3 semesters, 90 ECTS
  • Academic Degree: Master of Arts (MA)*
  • Programme Format: Full-time
  • Accreditation: Accreditation by AHPGS (the procedure for initial accreditation is currently underway)

Essential qualification goals are scientific analysis skills, critical self-reflection, in-depth consulting and management skills, and the ability to develop concepts and strategies for public and independent welfare organisations, private companies and civil society organisations.

*The completion of this Master's degree programme does not lead to the state recognition for social education specialists. This can only be acquired through a corresponding Bachelor's degree programme.
