Social Work (BA)

This course is offered only in German.

Course Outline

The general objective of the undergraduate Bachelor's degree programme is the practical mediation of the skills needed for professional social work activity on the basis of scientific knowledge and methods.

Students are prepared for employment in the varied areas of social work. The theoretical, organisational and methodological knowledge conveyed is systematically converted over the course of the programme into practical know-how and applied knowledge (TOMA matrix).
This also includes acquiring the necessary legal, regulatory and fiscal subject knowledge. Interdisciplinary themes include critical reflection upon gender and diversity.

Following successful completion of the programme, students are in a position to be able to grasp social problems, and describe, analyse and explain them.
Over and above this, they will have the skills to develop action plans and implement them in practice. They will be able to reflect upon their own professional actions both in theoretical terms and in accordance with the ethical principles of professional social work.
