Profile
The Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies is the newest faculty at Landshut University of Applied Sciences, having been founded on 15 March 2016. The Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies combines and integrates a variety of different competencies, thus supporting the interdisciplinary transfer of knowledge. Interdisciplinary approaches to analysing and coming to terms with social challenges are sought in research and tuition alike, so that the foundations can be laid here for innovative and holistic developments.
Alongside the cross-faculty programmes of Extracurricular Studies and Languages, the Faculty also offers two interdisciplinary programmes in Sign Language Interpreting and Engineering Pedagogy. Interdisciplinarity and the acquisition of general skills are also facilitated through public classes such as lecture series by different speakers that altogether deal with particular topics and issues. The varying approaches of the different disciplines can provide new impetus for learning. High quality teaching and continuous development of the programme in this regard is therefore of the utmost importance.
