Experts for Energy

The energy transition relies on wind and water, sun or biomass as energy sources. For the transition to succeed, the energy system must change fundamentally. The Energy Technology Center at Landshut University of Applied Sciences is working on new technologies.
By 2050, 80 percent of the energy used in Germany is to come from renewable sources. This means that energy is not generated continuously, but only when the sun is shining or the wind is blowing. The energy network must be able to buffer these irregularities. For this to succeed, we must be able to store, transport and convert the energy generated efficiently and in an environmentally friendly manner, for example from electricity to gas or heat - depending on what is needed at the time.
TZ Energie bundles the expertise of Landshut University of Applied Sciences in energy research. In Ruhstorf an der Rott, we develop the technical solutions for the future of energy. Our researchers work on energy storage, smart energy grids, energy efficiency and energy systems. We investigate how these components interact optimally and show how they can be applied in practice.
