Prof. Silvia Dollinger assumes responsibility for Teaching and Learning

New in the office of Vice President for Teaching and Learning from 1 October 2020 is Prof. Dr. Silvia Dollinger, who established the Engineering Education interdisciplinary study programme at the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies in her capacity as head of the study programme and study subject advisor. "I am delighted to have Prof. Dollinger by my side, a Vice President who brings a wealth of experience to the new position, both with her teaching area of vocational education and thanks to her administrative, management and teaching activities at other universities and educational institutions," explains University President Prof. Dr. Fritz Pörnbacher.

Great services to Landshut University of Applied Sciences

Pörnbacher thanked the outgoing Vice President for Teaching and Learning and the Vice President for Diversity and Internationalisation. "Prof. Dr. Petra Tippmann-Krayer and Prof. Dr. Detlev Maurer have played a crucial role in shaping Landshut University of Applied Sciences into what it is today," Pörnbacher points out. "In her position as Vice President for Teaching and Learning, Prof. Tippmann-Krayer has rendered outstanding services to our university over the past five years and made a major contribution to its further development, not least with regard to the implementation of digital teaching in times of corona."

Maurer is also stepping down from his position as Vice President for Diversity and Internationalisation, which he had held since 2015. During his term of office, his responsibilities included developing an understanding of diversity at Landshut University of Applied Sciences and expanding the exchange programmes with more than 60 partner universities now. "What Prof. Maurer has initiated over the last five years deserves my respect," says Pörnbacher, who will be responsible for the areas of diversity and internationalisation himself in future.

New area of responsibility for digitisation, start-ups and executive education

A new area of responsibility was instituted during the university council meeting. Prof. Dr. Marcus Jautze, previously Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, will be Vice President for Digitisation, Start-Ups and Executive Education in future. "We are massively expanding these three areas at the university," explains Pörnbacher. "With Prof. Jautze, a colleague is taking over the office who has been teaching at the university for many years, is well networked and has already made a difference as dean."The newly elected Vice Presidents will take up their offices in the coming winter semester. The Vice President for Research and Transfer, Prof. Dr. Holger Timinger, remains in office.
