Dual studies degrees available at Landshut University of Applied Sciences

At Landshut University of Applied Sciences, every full-time degree (apart from the degrees in the Faculty of Social Work) is available as a dual studies degree.

Requirements:

  • Abitur (“A” levels or equivalent)
  • Fachabitur (technical high school diploma)
  • Qualifizierter Meister (certified apprenticeship training)
  • Bachelor’s degree (for Master’s courses)

Elective options:

  • Integrated degree (Bachelor’s): degree and vocational training in parallel
  • degree with in-depth practical focus (Bachelor’s / Master’s): Intensive practical training during semester breaks

Integrated degree

Integrated degree: degree and vocational training

Degree at the university with integrated vocational training (qualification certified by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and/or Crafts [IHK / HWK]) at a company or organisation of your choice.

  • Duration: 4.5 years
  • Vocational training in the first year
  • Transfer to the university after a maximum of 14 months in the training company / organisation
  • Completion of the vocational training during the degree in the 3rd year of training
  • Alternating periods of university study and practical training
  • Most dual studies students enter employment immediately after graduating

Integrated degree cooperation model: Business Administration focusing on tax

Integrated degree in Business Administration focusing on tax in cooperation with the Staatliche Berufsschule 2 (Level 2 Vocational College) Landshut, the Steuerberaterkammer (Chamber of Tax Consultants) Munich, and the LSWB e.V. (State Association for the Tax Consulting and Accountancy Professions in Bavaria). An overview of the tax consultancies which cooperate in the scheme is available to download here.

The dual integrated degree allows students to complete their vocational training as a qualified Tax Clerk within just 4 years and to gain the academic degree of Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business Administration. Further information on this offer is available here.

Degree with in-depth practical focus

  • Duration: 3.5 years, with a 16-month period of practical training and Bachelor’s thesis
  • Degree at the university including intensive practical training at a company or organisation of your choice, in addition to the scheduled practical semester
  • Familiarity with the processes at a company or organisation, acquisition of in-depth practical work experience and valuable contacts
  • Alternating periods of university study and practical training
  • Practical training during semester breaks
  • Bachelor’s thesis relating to your work at the company
  • Most dual studies students enter employment immediately after graduating

Dual studies master’s degree

Become a highly qualified young professional with a dual studies master’s degree

  • Duration: 1.5 years
  • Alternating periods of theory and practice
  • At least half of the standard period of study is spent at the company
  • Starts in the summer semester (with certain exceptions, also in the winter semester)
  • Master’s thesis relating to your work at the company or organisation

Also open to graduates with a “non-dual” Bachelor’s degree.
